Outsource Payroll Company guide
Payroll bank-change preparation controls for outside support
Build a bank-change intake and verification boundary that keeps preparation separate from approval and release.
Payroll handoff readiness check
Use this table before a provider or Filipino payroll support worker receives access.
| Work area | Ready to hand off when | Owner check |
|---|---|---|
| Request | The request source and employee identity are recorded. | The owner confirms the source through a known channel. |
| Verification | Verification steps and reviewer are dated. | The reviewer confirms the destination. |
| Release | Preparation and release roles are separate. | The authorized owner approves the change. |
Build a hard stop around payment destinations
A bank-change request is a high-risk payroll input because a familiar name or copied email can be misleading. Record the request without changing the destination, then verify it using a known channel already held by the company. Do not use the contact details in the new request as the only verification path.
The support specialist may prepare the request record, identify missing evidence, and route it. A separate authorized reviewer must decide whether the destination can change and who may release it.
- Preserve original request.
- Verify through a known channel.
- Use named reviewers.
- Record release approval.
Review the control after each event
Keep a dated record of the verification and approval, not just a note that the change was “checked.” If evidence conflicts, pause the item and escalate.
A post-cycle review should confirm that access, approval, and release roles were not combined accidentally.

- Output: source and verification packet
- Boundary: no unilateral bank update or release
Questions from payroll buyers
Is an email enough?
No. Verify through a known, separately trusted channel.
Can support release the change?
Only if the organization explicitly authorizes that role; the safer boundary is preparation plus independent approval.
